Second Wizarding War

Hi everyone!

This is a photo of Hogwarts Castle near the end of the Second Wizarding War.

Tell me what you think of that photo. What else could it be? If there was a ninth Harry Potter movie, what do you think this photo would be of (keeping in mind that Voldemort has already died)?

If the Second Wizarding War had never happened, what do you think would have happened instead? (The second wizarding war went from when Voldemort was reborn to when Voldemort died)

I’d love to see your comments!

Hey everyone!

Double S (Esha) here! I’m so so so so so so so so so so (and so on) sorry that I haven’t written a post for ages! As you can tell from the post below, Mel (Lucy) has asked me to continue her post about Ron for her. So, I will. Well, I actually am right now.

Anyway, Ron Weasley is the second youngest of the Weasley family which consists of Arthur Weasley (father), Molly Weasley (mother), Bill Weasley (eldest son), Charlie Weasley (second-eldest son), Percy Weasley (third-eldest son), Fred and George Weasley (twins – third youngest sons), Ron Weasley (second youngest son), Ginny Weasley (youngest daughter). The Weasley’s are not a very rich family but are pure-blood. Everyone in the family, including Ron have Ginger hair. Ron has a pet rat called Scabbers until the third movie/book which is when they find out that Scabbers is actually a person.

So, Ron meets Harry for the first time on the train to Hogwarts, as Mel mentioned below. In the first film, Ron really doesn’t like Hermione… Ron is a very funny and also sort of brave character, but he has a fear of spiders, which shows in the second movie when they have a not so nice encounter with Aragog and his children. In the third film, as I mentioned before, Ron finds out that his pet rat is a human, which shocks him. He also gets his leg bitten by a dog, which is Sirius Black. Read the book or watch the movie to find out more about that. In the fourth film, Ron is not really a main  part in it but is fighting with Harry for the first bit of it. So, Ron is a very weird character in the way that he is always changing. Basically after that, Ron gets more brave and fearless. But, he is still scared of spiders.

As Mel said below, Ron is the one to destroy one of the Horcruxes and he really helps Harry to find them even though he did get a little angry with Harry in the Deathly Hallows Pt 1. Then, in the epilogue (or 19 years later in the movie), also as Mel said below again, Ron marries Hermione and has two children, Rose Weasley and Hugo Weasley.

So, I think that’s all you need to know about Ron Weasley! Now, I have a few questions for you. First of all, do you like Ron as a character? Is he your favourite character? Do you think Ron brave or not at all? Do you think Ron is a hero in any part of the films/books? If so, when and where?

Well, that’s all for now!

Double S (Esha)

I’m the sixth in our family to go to Hogwarts. You could say I got a lot to live up to. Bill and Charlie have already left – Bill was Head Boy and Charlie was captain of Quidditch. Now Percy’s a prefect. Fred and George mess around a lot, but they still get really good marks and everyone thinks they’re really funny. Everyone expects me to do as well as the others, but if I do, it’s no big deal, because they did it first.
—Ronald Weasley talking to Harry Potter the first time they meet each other.
Ron is one of the main characters in Harry Potter. Being the one who destroyed one of the Dark Lord’s Horcruxes, Ron is also one of the people who brought Voldemort to an end. If you’ve read Harry Potter and don’t know who Ron is, you should read the books again… and again… and again… and so on.
So, Ron Weasley is Harry Potter’s best friend. In the Epilouge, he marries Hermione Granger and has two children, Rose and Hugo. Now, Ron still uses his magic to gain an advantage in the muggle world.
Double S will complete this post for me… with her own post. In the meantime, comment on this post to tell me and Double S what you know about Ron!
That’s all for now,

A Patronus is a kind of positive force, and for the wizard who can conjure one, it works something like a shield, with the Dementor feeding on it, rather than him. In order for it to work, you need to think of a memory. Not just any memory, a very happy memory, a very powerful memory… Allow it to fill you up… lose yourself in it… then speak the incantation “Expecto Patronum”. Remus Lupin to Harry Potter

Double S here. Today, I’m going to tell you about patronuses! I’ll start now.

Incantation: Expecto Patronum.

To successfully cast the Patronus Charm one must think of a happy memory (the happier the memory, the more powerful the Patronus will be) and incantExpecto Patronum“.

Harry learns to cast a patronus by none other than his Defence against the Dark Arts teacher in his third year at Hogwarts, Remus Lupin. Here’s something you need to know though, The Patronus Charm is considered very advanced magic.

There are two types of patronuses, corporeal and non-corporeal. I will tell you about each of those types of patronuses.

A corporeal patronus is a patronus that takes shape of an animal.

For example, Harry’s corporeal patronus takes form of a stag.

Like this:

A non-corporeal patronus is a patronus that doesn’t take the shape of anything.

They resemble a burst of vapour or smoke without any clearly shown shape or form

shooting from the tip of the wand. Remus Lupin’s patronus is a non-corporeal patronus.

Like this:

Now, most people know that a patronus charm is used to fight off Dementors. But, patronuses can also be used to convey messages. For example, in the Deathly Hallows, a patronus that belonged to Kingsley conveyed a message at Fleur and Bill’s wedding. This way of using a patronus was invented by Albus Dumbledore.

Here’s some more facts about patronuses:

–  If a wizard is an Animagus and can produce a corporeal Patronus, the two may take the same form. For example, James Potter can turn into a stag, and his patronus is a stag and McGonagall can turn into a cat and her patronus is a cat.

– Most patronuses take the form of an ordinary animal, but magical creatures, such as Albus Dumbledore’s phoenix patronus, are not rare.

–  Patronus means “protector” or “guardian” in Latin and the Latin word exspecto or expecto means “I look out for” or “I wait for”.

– Here are the patronuses of some familiar faces: HARRY AND JAMES- StagRON- Dog (Jack Russel Terrier to be exact) ;  HERMIONE- Otter  ;  GINNY- Horse  ;  LUNA- HareDUMBLEDORE- Phoenix  ; MCGONAGALL- Cat  ; LILY AND SEVERUS- Doe.

Well, I hope you enjoyed reading about patronuses! But, I’m done done yet. I have a question for you, if you could have a patronus of any animal, what animal do you think it would be? Mine would probably be a panda or a llama or a fish. If you want to find out what character’s patronus you are most like and you would have click HERE to take the quiz and find out!

That’s all for now!

Hi everyone!

I think it’s time to learn about Harry Potter – in case you don’t know much about it. Today, the pensieve is taking you, the readers, into information about Dumbledore’s Army…

Dumbledore’s Army.

Dumbledore’s Army is a group of students from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry who have joined to create a Defence Against the Dark Arts group to prepare them from He Who Must Not Be Named, who had recently returned after several years. The group was led by Harry Potter, who had actually seen He Who Must Not Be Named return. The group was created in the middle of Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix. The DA first met in The Hog’s Head, an unpopular pub in Hogsmeade. Here, Hermione Granger (the co-leader of the group) asked the members of the group to sign a piece of parchment to permanently make them part of Dumbledore’s Army.

Dumbledore’s Army meeting in The Hog’s Head.

Shortly after the first meeting, while pondering where Dumbledore’s Army would meet for training, Harry Potter encounters his friend Dobby, a house-elf, who tells Harry about the Room of Requirement, a room that will provide the user with anything they need. The group trained every session in the Room of Requirement after Harry found out.

Dumbledore’s Army training in the Room of Requirement.

Cho Chang’s (a girl in Dumbledore’s Army) friend, Marietta (who was also in Dumbledore’s Army) told Dolores Umbridge (who, like He Who Must Not Be Named, Dumbledore’s Army was working against) and so therefore, the group couldn’t train anymore.

Dumbledore’s Army two years later.

Two years later, in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Dumbledore’s Army is reformed by Neville Longbottom and Ginny Weasley, in the desperate resistance against Amycus and Alecto Carrow. Neville brings Harry, Ron and Hermione into the Room of Requirement, where Harry explains that he has to fight He Who Must Not Be Named. This results in everyone saying that they want to fight too. Harry accepts, and then regrets it, for many die in the attempt to stop He Who Must Not Be Named from ruling over the Wizarding and Muggle worlds.

So, that is all about Dumbledore’s Army! We’ll be writing more soon! By the way, I only wrote this out of my head. I did no research at all. The pictures came from the Dumbledore’s Army article on the Harry Potter wiki.

Hey everyone!

I (Double S) have decided to post some Harry Potter quotes. All of these quotes/dialogues were written by J.K. Rowling, but I am just going to write which character said them in the books/movies. Actually, instead of me telling you who said them, why don’t you try to guess which character said them?

READY? Here we go: (I am writing 7. One from each book. Oh! By the way, none of the quotes/dialogues are ones that Harry has said)

Quote/dialogue number 1: ‘I AM NOT PAYING FOR SOME CRACKPOT OLD FOOL TO TEACH HIM MAGIC TRICKS!!’  FROM: Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone, spoken by the character ______???

Quote/dialogue number 2: ‘It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.’   FROM: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, spoken by the character ______???

Quote/dialogue number 3: ‘I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.’   FROM: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, spoken by the character _____???

Quote/dialogue number 4: ‘The house of Godric Gryffindor has commanded the respect of the wizarding world for nearly ten centuries. I will not have you, in one night, besmirching that name by behaving like a babbling, bumbling band of baboons!’   FROM: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, spoken by the character _____???

Quote/dialogue number 5: ‘Just because you’ve got the emotional range of a teaspoon doesn’t mean we all have!’  FROM: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, spoken by the character ______???

Quote/dialogue number 6: What do I care how he looks? I am good-looking enough for both of us, I theenk!   FROM: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Price, spoken by the character ______??? (This one might be tricky for some of you, so I will give you a clue: SHE gets married to one of the older Weasley brothers)

Quote/dialogue number 7: The wand chooses the wizard, that much has always been clear to those of us who have studied wandlore.   FROM: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, spoken by the character ______???

Well, those were all the quotes/dialogues. See how many you can figure out!!

Double S

I’m Mel and this is the first post I have written on this blog!

I don’t really know what to write, so I have decided to take a journey into the Pensieve, which mean that I will go back into my memories of funny things that have happened in my life.

One of the most funny things would probably be when Double S called our friend ‘Lunch’. I think it was because Double S was thinking about her lunch, and she passed our friend in the hallway and said ‘Hi Lunch’. It was really strange.

A second funny thing would be when we were practicing a play with our friends and we had a camera and I was being stupid and I was being so emotional and in the end I gave Double S a hug and Double S gave me one back and our friend Sophie took a picture and it looked like Double S was kissing me. I PROMISE WITH ALL MY HEART THAT WE WERE NOT!

Anyway, those are a few memories… Double S and I will write more soon!

If you have read our first post, you will know that we are obsessed with Harry Potter.

Since we are, I (Double S) have decided (With the help of Mel) to write a post all about Harry Potter.

Before we can go any further, you must get sorted into one of the four houses-

Will you be in Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Gryffindor or Slytherin?

Click HERE to get sorted. Please tell us what house you got into.

Mel is in Ravenclaw and I am in Gryffindor.

Now I am going to ask you some questions:

1. Do you actually like Harry Potter?

(If you don’t, you don’t have to answer the rest of the questions.)

2. If you do, how many movies have you watched

and how many books have you read?

3. What is your favourite movie?

4. What is your favourite book?

5. Who is your favourite character and why?

Well, those were some questions for all you

Harry Potter Heads out there!!

I will write more about Harry Potter later as

I have to go somewhere!!

Keep reading our blog and commenting!

Double S.

Hello everyone!

Welcome to this amazing blog called ‘Into the Pensieve’. Here on ‘Into the Pensieve’ we are two writers. My name is Esha and the other person writing on this blog is Lucy.

Now, you may be wondering why we chose the name ‘Into the Pensieve’. Let me explain.

Well, Lucy and I are obsessed with Harry Potter. If you have watched or read  Harry Potter, you will know that there is a thing called a pensieve. Click HERE to read more about it. All these posts that we will write are called ‘Memories’ as the things you put into the pensieve are memories.

On this blog we will be writing about, first of all, HARRY POTTER and some other interesting things. Hopefully you will love our blog!! Both Lucy and I also have our own individual blogs.

Here are the links: ESHA- and LUCY-

Oh! There is one more vital thing I have to tell you. Lucy and I have nicknames. Not just any nicknames, Harry Potter nicknames. Lucy is Mel and I am Double S. Here is how we got those names.

Well, somehow Lucy turned out to be called Mad-eye. (You know, the guy from Harry Potter with a magical eye?) Anyway, to make the long story short, Mad-eye Moody changed into Mad-eye Lucy and if you take the first letter from each word it spells Mel. As for me, I wanted to be Snape. We (Lucy and my other friends) realised that Snape’s initials are SS. That is how I became Double S. If you want to read further about this, Mel has written a  post on her individual blog that explains more… Here it is: All about how we got out nicknames

Well, we will be posting more soon!
